As canadian companies look to expand their business, more and more are realizing that the goods and services they offer are competative on world markets.
Abegweit Management Inc., formed in Barbados in 1993, was established to help Canadian companies go global in a tax efficient manner. Our roll is to assist in the development and execution of a business plan that takes advantage of the planning opportunities available by using a Barbados International Business Company (IBC).
The significant advantage for tax plannig is this: although a Barbados IBC is subject to a maximum tax rate of 2.5 per cent, it can pay dividends to its Canadian parent which attracts no further tax. Another advantage that we offer is that Abegweit is owned and operated by Canadian Chartered Accountants - a designation that serves as evidence of the professionalism and integrity with which we work. We are committed to providing a superior level of serviceto our clients while ensuring their confidentiality.
Abegweit's clients include Canadian private and public corporations. Business activities include conducting international sales of Canadian products, purchase and sale of international goods, licensing of property and conducting internations financial transactions.
Their are nearly 2000 IBCs operating in Barbados that have been attracted not only by the tax incentives but by the excellent infrastructure including banking, professional services, telecommunications and air travel access.
Abegweit is owned and operated by a group of Canadian Chartered Accountants. The principals are George D. MacLeod, C.A., James R. Trussler, C.A., and Barry M Skinner, C.A. Together we provide marketing, purchasing, liscensing, financing and general management services to companies that establish foreign affiliates in Barbados. We recommend that a representative of the company come to Barbados to visit our local offices and become familiar with the island.
Barbados is a coral island of white sand beaches with year round warmth and sunshine cooled by the Trade Winds. These factors combine to draw visitors from around the world and have made tourism one of Barbados' main sources of income, the others being sugar and the offshore business sector. A few decades after gaining independence from Britain, Barbados is proud of its political stability and its quality of life.
